Fall Asleep Faster

How long does it take you to fall asleep? I know some people who start snoring the moment they lie down. Me, I usually spend at least 20 minutes staring at the ceiling (or the pillow). There are even times when I would waste an hour or more just trying to fall asleep. This year, I am determined to fix my sleeping habits – and that starts with falling asleep faster. Here are some things that I have been trying out, and they seem to be working.
Get thick and dark curtains for the bedroom. My curtains are light and airy. They’re perfect for the morning, but at night, the moonlight or the city lights shine through. That never really bothered me, but I thought I’d try sleeping in a dark room. It helps!
Turn the air conditioning on. This is NOT going to work for those who are in winter right now. But for those in tropical countries, why don’t you try cooling the room down before you sleep? Again, I normally am not bothered by the heat that much, but I noticed that when the room is cool (temperature depends on your preference), I don’t spend hours just forcing sleep to come.
Do NOT think about your day (and issues) while in bed. I think that this is my main problem. When I lie down, I like to mull things over. This habit makes it hard for my mind to relax and shut down. Now I am trying to do the thinking while I relax in the living room. When it’s time to sleep, I think of my “happy places” – a favorite beach, this nice little mountain resort, and so on.
Try these?

Identifying Baldness in Women

Baldness is an issue faced by both men and women. However psychologically, women suffer more than men. If you feel like your hair is thinning, you need to take actions immediately. It is only natural to lose at least a hundred hair strands a day but if you think you are losing more than that then this is probably caused by underlying health problems. It is therefore important that you go immediately to a doctor. But before you do that here are some tips that you can use to identify baldness:
Identifying baldness
First of all you can wash your hair. As mentioned earlier, hair fall is natural but too much hair fall is not. Check the drain to verify whether you are losing more hair than you used to. After the shower, comb your hair and see if they are coming out in clumps. You will immediately notice the change if you are suffering from baldness.
Next, check if there are bald spots. Sometimes these may be hard to see, especially if they are coming from the back of your head. Ask someone to check it out for you. You may also check your hairline. If you are noticing changes such as the hair line gradually receding, it clearly indicates hair loss.
Preventive measures
After confirming that you are losing hair, consider getting professional help. If you think it’s too early for that, you may want to check out the causes of your hair fall. It might be caused by hormonal imbalance. If your thyroid gland is overactive or inactive, it may cause your hair to fall out. You should also avoid straining your hair follicles too much by wearing tight ponytails or cornrows. Sometimes these may scar your scalp causing permanent baldness in that area.

IS BREASTFEEDING REALLY BENEFICIAL?

Well, yes.

From the beginning of time, women have been breastfeeding. Even today medical professionals agree, breastfeeding is the best first food for your baby.

Babies are born with very little defense against nature's diseases. Human milk is baby's first immunization. Each time you breastfeed, you are providing antibodies which protect your baby from many common respiratory infections and intestinal diseases.

Thousands of medical studies have been done on the differing health consequences of breastfeeding and formula feeding. The result is unanymous, breastfed babies are healthier and have fewer infection than formula fed babies.

Common illnesses that you may have while breastfeding such as colds, flu, skin infections or diarrhea should not be a concern for your nursing infant. During this time, your breastmilk  will contain antibodies that will help protect your baby from those same illnesses.
